Weeks 1-4

Aussie Day

The students enjoyed the Australia Day dress up Day. They looked fantastic and raised just over $1400 dollars which will go to help those affected by the recent bush fires.

Parent Information Evening

Thank you for all the parents who were able to attend the Parent Information Evening last week. It was a great turn out and we hope you found it informative. It was great to meet you all.

Literacy

This week we are revising the letters g, l, o, b. We are working on saying the sounds and blending them together to read simple words like bat, lot, log. The sight words we are reading are; like, to, go, Mum and Dad.

In the last few weeks, we have covered letters m, s, a, t, f, i, d, r. We have also covered the words a, I, can, am, see, at, here, the, look.

Speaking and Listening Task

This week the students will also be presenting a short oral presentation about what makes them special. We have sent home a sheet for the students to draw (and parents to write) 3 facts that make them special. The students will be marked on their presentation. We are looking at the way they speak, volume, pace and body language as well as the content they are presenting. We look forward to hearing from all the students.

Mathematics

We have been revising numbers 1-10 this term so far. Students have been practising counting, sequencing and representing numbers in different ways including numerals, quantities, tallies.

We have looked at patterning with sounds and movement, shapes, colours and objects.
